Does Pickler calculate product footprints automatically?
Pickler automates parts of the calculation workflow, but it still needs structured product data and appropriate assumptions to produce useful results.
Pickler automates parts of the calculation workflow, but it still needs structured product data and appropriate assumptions to produce useful results.
Product footprinting is not fully automatic in the sense that no product data is needed. Pickler needs inputs such as product weight, materials, components, transport, end-of-life and other relevant fields depending on the product.
Once those inputs are available, Pickler can calculate and update impact results more efficiently than manual spreadsheet work. The quality of the output still depends on whether the product data and assumptions are suitable for the intended use.
If a team imports product data through spreadsheets, Pickler can calculate footprints from those inputs, while missing fields may be handled with defaults where appropriate.
Pickler makes footprint calculations scalable by combining structured inputs, calculation rules, secondary data and reusable outputs.
